I never thought that a small city such as Reykjavik would have so many incredible things to offer. Aside from the famous Northern Lights, you can fancy yourself a relaxing and healing soak at some of Iceland’s hot springs. Or how about trying some of the good food offered in the country’s capital? There’s really no limit to the activities you can do here –or the beautiful places to stay in Reykjavik.

You won’t have any problems finding where to stay in Reykjavik, as it has a massive selection of lodgings from minimalist towers to posh cabins. Here are a few places I highly recommend to stay in Reykjavik.

Where to Stay in Iceland

Northern Light Inn

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Reykjavik where you can see the Aurora Borealis Lights, the Northern Light Inn is the place to be. It’s located 45 degrees north of Reykjavik.

The place is off-the-beaten path but its modern design and rich selection of amenities will make you want to stay here in Reykjavik just a little bit longer. The inn just opened a wellness spa last August 2017 so you will for sure want to enjoy some of their pampering services while waiting for the amazing lights of Borealis come out.

Reykjavik Lights by KeaHotels

Reykjavik Lights got their inspiration from the Northern Lights as each of their rooms are numbered after a specific day in the ancient Icelandic calendar. The rooms, bar, restaurant, and lobby feature a minimalist design reminiscent of Scandinavian style. While this hotel is one of the more secluded places to stay in Reykjavik, it’s still a good location since it’s close to some of the best tourist spots. It’s just the right place for budget travelers.

Hotel Klettur

If you’re looking for an affordable yet convenient place to stay in Reykjavik, choose Hotel Klettur.

This hotel is just near the Hlemmur Square bus station. It has a clean and stylish finish with amazingly designed interiors. Its design was inspired by Iceland’s fascinating rock formations. There is a large boulder that remains on the ground floor which a lot of people believe is an elf’s home. If you’re into the mystical, you might want to stay here.
